Rumors regarding the growing rift between the royal brothers have been brewing since 2020. It began when Prince Harry decided to step down from royal duties alongside wife Meghan Markle. Hence, the reunion of Prince Harry and William for the Queen’s mourning last year gave fans hope that all was not lost just yet. Now, a royal source has claimed it was the older sibling who reached out during the tragic time.

Prince William sent bombshell ‘text to Harry’ to extend an ‘olive branch’

Prince William‘s olive branch to Harry came at a very crucial moment for the royal family. The world stood still to watch the late Queen‘s mourning period when she passed away on September 8, 2022. As per close sources, William texted Harry about plans to view the flowers outside the gates of Windsor Castle. He wanted the foursome to appear as a united front on that Saturday afternoon and talk to the well-wishers, they claim.

Harry reportedly agreed to William’s proposition, which resulted in the world witnessing Harry and Meghan walking side by side with William and Kate Middleton. It became a moment that showed the unity of the royal family.

“It happened very quickly”

Sources close to the family claimed both Harry and William were not on the best of terms at the time. However, William’s decision to text Harry happened pretty quickly.

“It happened very quickly – remarkable really considering they didn’t see each other in Scotland,” the source revealed.

While the intentions or the content of the text is not public, experts believe William’s stance to unite together established a picture of the royals which was necessary.

“These coming days are going to be extremely intense and getting through them without distraction can only be a good thing,” a source said.

Prince Harry opened up about his ‘fight’ with William

Prince Harry and Prince William will “always be brothers” but the former opened up about an alleged fight between the two that took place in his memoir, Spare.

Harry recalls the intensity of the fight, claiming: “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast.

“He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

The explosive book excerpt prompted fans to know Prince William’s side of the story. Sources close to the then Duke of Cambridge claimed in February 2023, “he has made no effort to speak to Harry”.

They further added he “feels that Harry is all smoke and mirrors and is not to be trusted. He’s trying to move on with his life.”

The palace, nor other members of The Firm, never responded to allegations from the Duke in his memoir.
